Hi im trying to add my millage to my claim as I have over 2000 miles to and from work but when I submit this the 'total business miles in 2023' is not highlighted

I'm here to further help you in claiming business mileage in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

We'll need to make sure we track the business mileage properly in QBO. This way it will reflect on your total business miles in 2023. Here's how:

1. Go to Apps and select Mileage (Take me there).
2. Find the trip and choose the checkbox.
3. Select Mark as Business or Mark as Personal for the type.
4. Review the details.
5. If you need to edit the location or distance, select the trip, make your changes, and then select Save.

On the other hand, if you're a sole trader, you have two options for accounting for your mileage. You can use the Actual expenses (or full cost) method or the Standard mileage deduction. Getting a copy of your mileage trips is a breeze in QBO. You just simply need to go to the Mileage page and click the Add trip drop down then, select Download Trips. This will open an Excel file with a report of all the trips you've input.
