Question

How can I add a note to a rule? - In the transaction list I would like to be able to see a note. The note would always be the same for this repeated transaction.

The rule works, but I can do with seeing the note added also. If I have to go back and manually add a note, it takes away the benefit of the automatic rule feature

Hi there, Jcdk.

Currently, QuickBooks Online does not have a built-in feature to automatically add a fixed note or memo to transactions created by a bank rule so that the note appears in the transaction list automatically.

I encourage you to submit your suggestions and concerns by leveraging the Send Feedback option in your QuickBooks Online. It is the most effective way to communicate with our Product development team. They regularly review these submissions to guide future updates.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Open your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon located at the top-right corner of your screen.
  3. Under the Profile section, select Feedback.
  4. Type in your suggestions and then click on Next.

In the meantime, I suggest exploring third-party apps or integrations that offer enhanced transaction management features. You can visit our QuickBooks App Store to discover apps that best fit your business needs. Navigate to the CATEGORIES section and select the perfect app for you.

I'll keep this thread open for future discussions.
