Question

How map CT to Tax line? Workpapers R&A shows CT liability; CT charge is in P&L Other exp. But FRS105 Annual Accounts P&L Tax line is £0.

I’m preparing the current year accounts in Workpapers. In Review & Adjust, corporation tax shows as a balance sheet liability and the charge sits in P&L under Other expenses (no separate taxation category there). But in Annual Accounts (FRS105 micro-entities) → View/Edit, the Tax line on the P&L shows £0. Tax Mapping/pencil options only give four generic lines and none for taxation/CT. How should I tag/map the corporation tax charge so it feeds into the Tax line in the Annual Accounts P&L?

Hi ir11, thank you for the details you have provided.

Let’s dive into the annual accounts and verify the mapping to ensure everything is correctly aligned.

Please make sure that the Chart of Accounts (COA) is mapped correctly to your annual accounts.

Here's how:

  1. In the Annual accounts tab, select Map annual accounts.
  2. Use the dropdown menu next to each COA account to map it to a corresponding annual account.
  3. Repeat for all relevant accounts.
  4. Select Save.

Once done, you can proceed with reviewing your tax mapping by following these steps:

  1. Select the Tax mapping tab.
  2. If any accounts are unmapped, select Assign tax line.
  3. Choose the correct tax line for each account, or select Not mapped.
  4. Select Save.

If any adjustments are required for the corporation tax charge, you can make them using Journal Entries.

  1. In Workpapers, go to the Review & adjust tab.
  2. Next to Accounts, select the ▼dropdown to find the account needing adjustment.
  3. In the Adjusting entries column, select the (+) icon to open a new journal entry.
  4. Complete the journal entry details.
  5. Select Save and close.
