i am unable to link my account to HMRC to submit quarterly reports - the error i have is "We're sorry, we can't find the page you requested."

You’ve encountered the error message, “We’re sorry, we can’t find the page you requested,” while trying to link your account to HMRC. This happens because the QuickBooks Online Solopreneur product is designed with certain limitations and cannot directly link accounts to HMRC.

 

In this case, the integration must be completed entirely within QuickBooks Online itself, as it manages the connection to HMRC for quarterly report submissions automatically.

 

To resolve this, please complete the linking process within QuickBooks Online by following these steps:

 

  1. Select Set up MTD.
  2. Click Authorise now, then select Continue.
  3. Log in to HMRC in the pop-up window using your Government Gateway credentials:
    • Enter your HMRC Government Gateway user ID and password.
  4. Select Give permission to allow QuickBooks to connect with HMRC.
  5. Once authorised, click Continue, then select Go to Taxes.

 

Once completed, QuickBooks Online will handle the HMRC integration and allow you to proceed with quarterly submissions.
