Hello there, plrfairy.

If your QuickBooks Online account uses British Pounds (GBP) as the primary or home currency, it impacts how financial data is processed and displayed within the program.

When your account is set up this way, the system automatically converts incoming data, including PayPal bank transactions, into GBP to maintain a consistent record and balance sheet.

I understand you've already turned on the Multi-currency feature. However, to view your PayPal transactions in USD, you'll need to take a couple more steps:

  • Add a foreign currency (USD)
  • Add an account using a foreign currency
  • Add transactions that use foreign currency.

For a detailed guide on this process, please refer to the following article: Set Up and Use Multi-currency in QuickBooks Online.

By completing these steps, you'll be able to add and properly view your PayPal transactions in USD within QuickBooks Online.

If there's anything else you'd like to know about managing currencies in QuickBooks, feel free to ask.

You need a 3rd party connector.
