“I upgraded my QuickBooks Online subscription and now all of my invoices are missing. There is no ‘Switch company’ option. I believe my subscription was attached to a new blank company instead of my original one. I need my original company file restored and linked back to this subscription.”

Hi, fetchandstretch1.

When you upgrade to QuickBooks Online (QBO), QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) data, including invoices, doesn’t automatically transfer to QBO.  Instead, you’ll need to manually export and upload your data

First, you’ll need to export your data from QBSE before migrating it to QBO.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Invoice menu.
  2. Use the Status and Date.
  3. Select the Export icon.

Once done, you can now import your invoice in QBO.

After importing, you can cancel your QuickBooks Self-Employed subscription to prevent getting charged.
