When you begin tracking mileage with QuickBooks Online (QBO) it will automatically record your business trips, Clare. I'm here to get you back on track.
If all settings appear correct but tracking still fails, let's check your app to see if it's still tracking your miles.
Here's how:
Select the menu ☰ icon.
Click Settings ⚙.
In the Mileage section, select Mileage Settings.
Make sure to check the list in the "Avoid missed trips" section. If all the settings have a green checkmark, you're all set. If you see a red exclamation mark, follow the on-screen instructions to make any necessary adjustments.
Third-party antivirus software and apps may disrupt mileage tracking. We can address this by adding the QBO mobile app to your permissions lists.
Go to your device's Settings and select Application manager or APPS.
Locate the QuickBooks mobile app and select Mobile Data.
Turn on the settings Allow app while data server on, Allow unrestricted data usage, and Allow background data usage.
Get back to me here if you have further questions about tracking mileage. Tag me in your reply, and I’ll sprint back into action. Have a good one, and keep safe.
I spoke to someone yesterday who told me that this is a known issue and is being investigated. They have not communicated this to us and I'm very annoyed about it. This is the reason I chose QB and now it's not fit for purpose.
