You'll want to access your account using an incognito or secure browser, @stconsumables. This way, you can continue adding 20% VAT to your invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO). We'll share more details below to help resolve your inquiry.

The browser you use to access your company file accumulates temporary internet files that can affect how the program works. We recommend performing basic browser troubleshooting to ensure yours is free from temporary data and restore it to its default function. To begin, you'll want to access your company file using an incognito or private browser through these shortcut keys:

  • Safari 11 or newer: +Shift+N
  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once you're in, enter an invoice and try to add the 20% VAT. If it goes through, proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

You can also consider using another supported browser. For the list of browsers, please see this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Online products.

On the other hand, here's an article to help you in creating personalised sales forms in QBO: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks.
