When I download payslips as PDF files they span multiple pages of A4the problem isn't printer settings and occurs on multiple pc's

Unfortuntately I do not have access to an alternative web browser

Can we also confirm if you get the option to select Fit to page option under Scale?

Can I please confirm which version of QuickBooks payroll you are using? Could you please send a screenshot of the employee section and the payslip.

Sure, see attached file The printout spans across multiple pages (horizontally and vertically) so it does not fit on one a4 paper i have tried printing alternative pdf files from other sources and these print file suggesting print settings are ok (i've checked anyway and there is no zoom that i can find and paper source is set to a4)

Can I please confirm whether you get same issue when printing using an alternative web browser?
