I’m here to shed some light on importing bank transactions and making sure you get them into QuickBooks Online (QBO), moxie.
First off, connecting your online banking to the application will automatically bring in your recent entries. However, transactions that are older than 90 days will no longer be available for this option. In your case, we can manually upload the two years’ worth of transactions via CSV file. Don’t worry as I will be guiding you throughout the process.
Let’s start by obtaining the file from your bank’s website. To do that, we can log in to your bank or credit card's website and follow their instructions to download it. Please take note that you may be offered a few file formats, if possible you can choose the QuickBooks Online data (QBO) formatted specifically for QuickBooks Online, but a CSV file will also work.
Go to the Transactions menu and select Bank Transactions.
Tap your bank’s tile where you want to upload the file.
Tap the Link account dropdown and select Upload from file.
Hit the Drag and drop or select files and then select the file you downloaded from our bank. Then, click Continue.
Follow the onscreen procedures to match the columns on the file with the correct fields. Then, select Continue.
Select the transaction you’d like to import and select Continue. After that, select Yes.
Lastly, select Done.
After this process and verifying that all transactions you need are now in your bank feeds, we can start categorizing them by following Step 5: Categorise the transactions in this article. Right after that, go with reconciling your account to keep your records accurate and avoid any possible discrepancies.
Assisting you with your bank transaction concerns delights me. If you have other queries or need assistance in navigating the application, please don’t hesitate to post them in this forum. The Community is open 24/7 to help you. Take care!
