Question
Turbo Tax is trying to charge me to file taxes that are included in my QB Self-Employed Tax Bundle
I imported my tax information though QB SE into TurboTax as I do every year. The cost to file 1 federal and 1 state was included in my QB SE Tax bundle and was marked as $0. I paused and saved my progress because it was taking a long time. But when I came back and tried to finish and file TurboTax gave me a charge of $188! I did not file any different forms than I always do and I have never been charged extra. I did not add any additional tax prep features either.
I called TurboTax and after a long call with an agent who insisted that the tax prep was not included in my plan (it is), or that I filed a form that voided my eligibility (I did not) we came to the concluded that there was some disconnect between my QB SE tax bundle and TurboTax and there was nothing TurboTax could do. The agent suggested to call Quickbooks to have them either reconnect my accounts or give me a service code that would override the charge. I'm not sure how the accounts could be disconnected since I use the same login, and I have paused and come back through turbotax before and never had this problem. I have been on the phone trying to reach quickbooks all morning but haven't gotten through. I am wondering if there is another workaround that does not require talking to an agent. I can't spend all of tax season on hold, I have a business to run.
