Urgent: Roadmap for UAE E-Invoicing (Peppol/PINT AE) Compliance in QBO

Hello QBO Community and Product Team,

I am writing as a professional accountant managing multiple clients in the UAE. With the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) moving toward the mandatory e-invoicing rollout (Phase 1 starting January 2027 and Phase 2/SMEs in July 2027), there is significant concern regarding QuickBooks Online's readiness.

The upcoming system requires structured digital invoices (XML/JSON) transmitted via Accredited Service Providers (ASPs) and the Peppol (PINT AE) network.

My specific questions are:

  1. Direct Integration: Does Intuit have a firm roadmap to provide native, direct integration for UAE e-invoicing before the July 2026 pilot phase?
  2. Third-Party Reliance: If native support isn't planned, will there be a list of "Official" or "Certified" third-party middleware partners specifically vetted for UAE compliance?
  3. Data Residency: How will QBO address the UAE’s strict data residency requirements for e-invoice storage?

The Urgency: Many of my clients are currently evaluating whether to stay with QuickBooks or migrate to competitors who have already announced "compliance-first" features for the UAE market. Without a clear commitment or timeline from Intuit, I am finding it increasingly difficult to recommend QBO for long-term UAE tax compliance.

Looking forward to a detailed update from the product team.

Ahmed H.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Ahmed. I understand how important this is for you and your clients to have clarity as you prepare for these changes.

While I don’t have specific details about a public roadmap for native, direct integration with the UAE’s FTA e-invoicing system (including Peppol/PINT AE), I recommend checking with our support team for the most up-to-date information on QuickBooks Online’s plans and timeline for native compliance features. They can provide deeper insights into ongoing development and future updates in this area.

As updates are rolled out closer to the pilot phase for e-invoicing, you can also expect communication from Intuit to keep customers informed about new functionality or integrations designed to support UAE businesses like yours.

Additionally, for third-party applications, I suggest exploring our QBO App store that can connect to QBO and facilitate compliance via approved ASPs.
