Advice on best QB product for accounting purposes.

I was talked into QB Enterprise Gold 2023 by the salesman. It is total overkill for our small business of 10. I just signed up with a payroll service so I no longer need payroll. But, I would still like to use QB for accounting and customer data management. I don't even know what my options are.

Any help or advice you can give is much appreciated!!

Hi @HHG24. Since Enterprise is built for large corporations, it’s understandable why it feels like too much for a 10-person team. QuickBooks Online is usually the go-to for small businesses because it is much simpler. It still handles your accounting and customer data just as well.

You can also, take a look at the different Online plans to see which fits best, or give our Sales team a call at the number in the top right of this page. They can help you move to a version that’s actually built for your business.

Your license renewal fee is $8525 + tax.

I recommend renewing your license through a reseller. They can offer a 5-user license renewal for less than $3,500. Then, you'll need to import your payroll data into QB Desktop.

Alternatively, switch to QB Online Plus, and your annual fee for the first year will be less than $1,500. You have about two months to decide whether to stay with QB Desktop for the lower renewal fee or switch completely to QB Online. If you decide to switch to QB Online, you can use the QB Desktop Enterprise trial to access your historical data.
