Best laptop to run Quickbooks 2014 Pro Desktop

Hello,

I have Quickbooks 2014 Pro.  I need to upgrade the laptop I am working with because it's getting too old.  What should I look for when purchasing a new laptop so that I will be able to run my current program?

I have no intention to switching to quickbooks online.

Thanks for the help!

Alyssa

QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro 2014 has system requirements that are easily met by most modern laptops@Lyssbw. However, to ensure it runs smoothly, here are the key factors to consider.

System Requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 7,8, or 10 (32- or 64-bit). Windows 11, however, is not officially supported for QBDT 2014 and may cause issues.
  • Processor: 2.4 GHz or faster.
  • Ram: Minimum 2 GB (4 GB or more recommended).
  • Storage: At least 2.5 GB of free disk space (SSD preferred for faster performance).
  • Display: Optimized for 1024x768 resolution or higher.

Please note that QBDT Pro 2014 has officially been discontinued by QuickBooks. While it still works, you may face compatibility issues with newer laptops or operating systems. You may consider upgrading to a newer version of QBDT for the latest features and improvements.

Feel free to reach out with any follow-up questions you may have.

Thank you for all that information!

What type of issues might I run into using Windows 11?

Thanks,

Alyssa

QB 2014 does not natively support Win 11. You may receive error messages.

@Lyssbw

Any new laptop on the market should be sufficient to run QB 2014. The problem is that your version is over a decade old, and I'm not sure you can reactivate your license. If this is the case, you should contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA directly via email for advice. You might consider upgrading to a newer, non-subscription license (e.g., 2019) for free (T&C apply).
