Your receipts aren't lost. In QuickBooks Self-Employed, how they get added depends on how you entered them, so let's cover both scenarios to find where things stalled.
If you snapped a photo of your receipt in the mobile app, it should automatically create a new transaction for you.
Here's how to check:
Go to the Transactions menu to see if the receipt already created a new transaction.
If no new transaction appears, try snapping the receipt again to see if it processes on a second attempt.
If you uploaded or attached the receipt to a transaction you'd already entered, here's how to confirm it went through:
Go to the Transactions menu and find the transaction the receipt should be linked to.
Select Attach receipt, choose the image, and select Save to make sure it's properly attached.
If you emailed your receipts using the receipt forwarding feature, note that this creates transactions through a separate process, so check the Forward receipt images to QuickBooks Self-Employed to confirm your setup is correct.
