Question

Can I delete the mileage/vehicle information so it stops showing up in TurboTax? I do not claim mileage or vehicle expenses on my taxes.

I don't want to have to keep filling out this form on TurboTax as it's irrelevant.

Hello there, Angela. In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), you cannot fully delete your vehicle information, but you can mark it as Vehicle no longer in use.

You can accomplish this by going to the Miles tab > Manage vehicles > select the vehicle > choose Vehicle no longer in use. Please note that the option to mark it inactive only appears on vehicles that are not set as the primary vehicle.

Additionally, individual mileage trips in QBSE can be deleted. You can go to the Miles tab, find the trips listed there, and delete them individually. That would remove the mileage information from the account entirely. Deletion is irreversible, so please proceed with caution.

Since you mentioned that TurboTax keeps prompting you to fill out a form, I suggest contacting TurboTax support directly or posting your question in the TurboTax Community. There, TurboTax specialists and experienced users can offer guidance that addresses your specific situation. You can access their community here: TurboTax Community.
