Can't restore a company file in Desktop Enterprise

I have a company file that ran in QBD 2022.  When I upgraded to 2024, this file would not open in the QBD 2024 so I kept it in 2022.  Now that I've upgraded to Enterprise, I still can't open it in the new version.  And now, because I canceled the 2024 Desktop, I can't open 2022 Desktop and can't access this company file anymore (major freak out).  I've run the Quickbooks Desktop File Doctor and it can't find anything wrong with this file.

HELP!!!!!

Hi e1d inc. It’s understandable why you’re upset. Being locked out of your own business data is a tough spot to be in, and it makes sense that you’re feeling stuck right now. There is a reason why this is happening, and we can get it fixed.

When you brought your 2022 file into QuickBooks 2024, the file was converted to be compatible only with the newer software. In other words, it has been modified in such a way that the 2022 version of QuickBooks can no longer recognize or open it.

To get back into your data, you’ll need to use QuickBooks Desktop 2024. Since that subscription was canceled, you will need to resubscribe to the 2024 version first. Once you have access again, you can open the file and contact our support team to help you move it safely into your new Enterprise software.

If you have more questions or need clarification, just let us know. We’re here to help.

no, i could never open it in 2024 so it never converted.  could only open it in 2022 so i kept that software program.  now that i'm in enterprise, 2024 was discontinued and i lost access to the 2022 software also.  i have a case # assigned but no expert has been assigned yet 10 days in.

Have you tried to install the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 Enterprise to be sure?

@e1d inc

What error message did you encounter when trying to restore the file in QB Desktop 2024? You can use the trial versions of QB Desktop 2023 and 2024 to replicate it. You can also try to open the sample file on QB Desktop 2022, create a backup file and restore it on 2024. Did you encounter the same error message?
