Question

Can you have options for a customer to choose from on an estimate? They can choose to "add on" a service or they can decline that option

On an estimate- I want to list an optional service and have the customer choose to accept or decline that section WHEN they are accepting/declining the estimate.

Specifically, we have a sealcoating business and I want them to be able to choose a second coat of sealer when I send over the estimate.

Is this possible?

We appreciate you for reaching out here in the Community, SJR Asphalt. Let me share some details about the estimate you send to your customer.

Once we send an estimate to a customer, they'll receive an email with an option to accept or decline it. Its status will automatically update after the selection.

On the other hand, the option for your customer to choose a product or service from the estimate you send them is not yet available in QBO. Thus, I recommend using a third-party app that supports this feature and makes your business more efficient.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. On the left corner under Menu, click Apps.
  3. Select Find apps, then search for the app that you wish to connect, or press the Browse category ▼ to choose an app by category.

Also, you can convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online if a customer accepts your estimate.

You can use a proposal management app to offer your client up to 3 options to choose and integrate it with QBO. When your client choose one of those options, the app will generate the invoice automatically and they will pay it with cards or bank transfers. The downside, you can't use QB Payment to accept the payments.
