Question

Does Lightspeed-QBO sync support excluding named-guest customers and syncing only "Visitor" type sales? Native option or workaround? Thanks!

We are configuring the native Lightspeed Restaurant to QuickBooks Online integration and have a question about customer sync behavior. In Lightspeed's Sales Feed, transactions are tied to either: - A generic "Visitor" customer (walk-in/anonymous sales), or - A named, linked guest profile (e.g., room/folio-billed guests) I want "Visitor" type transactions to sync into QuickBooks Online, and to exclude sales tied to named guest profiles from syncing. 1. Does the Lightspeed–QuickBooks Online integration support filtering or excluding customers by type/category during sync, either natively or via sync settings? 2. If not supported natively, is there a recommended workaround (e.g., posting all sales as summarized totals rather than per-customer, which would avoid named guest profiles appearing in QuickBooks at all)? 3. Is this something controlled from the QuickBooks Online side, or is it entirely governed by Lightspeed's sync configuration? Any guidance, documentation, or best-practice recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

QuickBooks Online (QBO) only receives the data format sent by Lightspeed. To determine if the integration's setup allows filtering of named guests while retaining "Visitor" sales, I recommend contacting their customer service.

If it is not supported natively, you can set up your customer, accounts, items, and template for your daily transactions in QBO as an alternative. Then, record your total daily sales using a single sales receipt:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Lists, choose Recurring transactions.
  3. Find your template, then select Use from the Action dropdown.
