Error #12029

Hi,

I have QB desktop 2024, and it has been working fine until today.  I signed in with user name and password with no issues, but it's asking me to sign in with my email and password in order to use the merchant center and to send invoices.  I was logged in yesterday doing these things with no issues.  Today it's giving me error #12029.  All computer updates are done and I've also done the update in QB to cover my bases.  I also rebooted my computer.  Contacted our IT guy and he said to reboot as well (go figure).

Is anyone else having this issue and how do I fix it (it layman terms please).

I know dealing with errors can be challenging, especially after trying multiple fixes, Nicole. Let’s work together to get this fixed.

Error code 12029 in QuickBooks Desktop can occur when there's a network timeout or the software cannot connect to the server. It's typically encountered during payroll updates, application updates, or when attempting to connect to the internet.

Below are steps to troubleshoot and resolve this error:

Verify that you can access secure websites outside of QuickBooks.

  1. Download and run the TLS 1.2 Utility.
  2. Use a web browser, such as Google Chrome, to check if you can access a secure website outside of QuickBooks Desktop, such as your bank's sign-in page.

Note: If you're unable to access a secure website outside of QuickBooks, consult a computer or IT expert.

Hello,

I am having this issue and spent 6.5 hours on tech support with no resolution. Were you able to fix yours?

I tried everything in all of the help articles, created firewall exceptions, and port management. Nothing resolved the issue.

Please help! So frustrated
