Welcome to the Community, User.

I'm here to give details on why you get a Tax ID invalid when trying to submit your 1099's in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Let's ensure you're using the SSN on your Tax IDs on your contractor's information instead of an EIN. If you have reviewed your 1099 filling form and your issue persists, I recommend contacting our support team. In this way, the error you're currently experiencing will be further investigated and will be properly addressed with the right solution.

To contact support:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. At the upper right corner of the screen, click Help (?).
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Let's Talk.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us - Start a chat or Get a callback:
  • When you choose Chat, you’ll be having a chat with our customer support within five minutes.
  • When you choose Callback, you’ll have a spot on our line, and call you back within five minutes.

In addition, you can find out what 1099 forms are and prepare for the upcoming tax season in this article: Get answers to your 1099 questions.

If you have further inquiries with your Tax ID in QBO, leave a comment below. I'll be here to assist you at any time. Have a good day!
