Question

How can I get rid of Business Feed and all the other "reminders" and add on sales items in Quickbooks Online?

We are paying a premium for QB Online. I dont want sales pitches and constant reminders of features i should turn on but dont want to use. I want a clean interface like we had in Desktop Pro. I would like a switch that I can flip to turn these things off.

Hi, @WGFC1760.

Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not offer an option to disable the Business Feed, tips, or promotional banners, unlike the simpler, cleaner interface you may remember from Desktop Pro.

That said, you can adjust your marketing preferences to reduce personalised ads and promotional content. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Account and settings.
  2. Navigate to the Advanced tab, click Marketing preferences.
  3. You'll be directed to your Intuit account. Once there, select Preferences.
  4. Under the QuickBooks tab, scroll down and toggle off All QuickBooks marketing.
  5. Don't forget to click Save to update your preferences.

I understand how distracting these additions can be, so if you were referring to something else or need further assistance, just let me know, and I'll be happy to help.

Thanks for your response. It says it will take a few days to implement so will HOPE and see.

Another question that I have and have sent to you but have received no response is the REMINDERS feature.

Desktop Pro worked the way I expected, in that if I set a reminder I would open the program for the day or just open the program i would receive a list of items that I had set reminders for. (as you know)

I can not figure out how reminders in recuring transactions in QB Online. I can set a template as a reminder but I get no reminder at startup or on my opening page. What am I missing?

Thanks

Hello there, WGFC1760.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) currently does not provide the same level of visibility for reminders at startup, similar to QuickBooks Desktop Pro. To manage reminders, check the Recurring Transactions section and rely on scheduled transactions for automatic creation under Lists.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to Settings, then click Recurring Transactions under Lists.
  2. Within the Reminder list, locate templates set with reminder.
  3. Manually enter transactions by reviewing this section regularly.
