How do we find out who is logged on to the current session of Quickbooks?

Let me share some information about the login history of QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @Deadwood Al.

Please know that the ability to see who logs in to the current session isn't available in QBDT. We can only track what users did while they were logged in through the audit trail. You can access this by going to the Reports menu> Accountant and Taxes> Audit trail.

I can see the importance of having this ability. I'd love to hear more of your insights regarding this so I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This way, they can further review which parts of the program need enhancements and consider adding them to future updates. Please refer to the steps below:

1. Go to the Gear icon and click Feedback.
2. Provide your feedback or product suggestions.
3. Click Next to submit.

Regarding the QuickBooks Messenger, this is only available when you’re using QuickBooks Desktop in multi-user mode and sign in as Admin. In this mode, you'll notice the Messenger icon in your system tray at the bottom-right of your screen. The messenger automatically starts whenever you are logged in.
