I turned off Intuit payroll as I closed the business 12.31. How do I print and file the one employees W2?

Hey there, theplacepropertymanager.

 

I can walk you through the steps to print and file W-2s after your payroll subscription ended.

 

Even though you turned off payroll on December 31st, the W-2 forms for 2024 should still be available in your account.

 

Here's how to access and print W-2:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account (even though payroll is canceled, you should still have access)
  2. Go to Payroll > Payroll Tax Center
  3. Check the Filings tab for W-2 forms.
  4. Find W-2 Copies B, C, & 2 for 2024.
  5. Click Manage W-2s > View and Print
  6. Download and print to give to your employee by January 31st.
  7. If not there, go to Payroll Tax CenterResourcesArchived Forms and Filings.

 

Important note: When you canceled, you were asked whether you wanted Intuit to file the year-end forms or if you'd handle them yourself. If you selected Intuit to file, Copy A should be automatically submitted; no action is needed. If you choose to print and mail yourself, you'll need to file Copy A along with Form W-3 to the Social Security Administration.
