We appreciate you raising your concern regarding the deleted transactions in the Audit log, mrgoat702.

The audit log in QuickBooks Online (QBO) tracks all account activity, including user sign-ins, changes to QuickBooks settings, and edits to customers, vendors, employees, and payroll submissions. The audit log also records the following information:

  • The name of the user who made the change
  • The type of change or event
  • The name of any customer or vendor related to the change
  • Any original transaction date and amount
  • The date of any change to your books

Since your wife didn’t make any changes, please ensure that her login credentials are used exclusively by her. If others (such as family members, employees, or bookkeepers) are sharing her login information, they could inadvertently be making changes, which would be attributed to her account. For more details on managing their assigned role, see this link: User roles and access rights.

To restore the deleted transactions, you can re-enter them. For guidance on locating those transactions, please refer to this article: Use the audit log to re-enter deleted transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Post again here if you have additional concerns. I'm here to help.
