We have an Excel spreadsheet information for our deposits that we would like to import into QuickBooks Online rather than retype. The information we would like to import are chart of account code, check number and amount.

Hello, SG528. In QuickBooks Online, deposits are imported as bank data using a CSV file. When doing so, you can map the date, description, amount, and check number.

However, the mapping process does not include Chart of Accounts codes since you need to categorize the deposits after uploading.

Feel free to reply if you have more questions about importing deposits into QuickBooks. I'm here to help.

Can the mapping be saved or do we need to map each time we import?  Will the deposits be a single deposit for each line in the spreadsheet or as one deposit with multiple lines?

Hi there, SG528. Currently, QuickBooks Online(QBO) does not have a feature to save a custom mapping template for CSV imports. This means you'll need to manually map the columns each time you upload a new file.

Regarding your other question, one line is equivalent to one deposit. QuickBooks treats each individual row on your spreadsheet as a separate deposit transaction.

If you have a single deposit that needs to be broken down into multiple categories or customers, you can split the transactions within your Banking feed in your QBO account after the import is complete.

The import worked for a single line deposit. The deposits we would like to import are multiple entries like the one pictured.  How do we import the data so that a deposit would contain multiple entries/lines?
