PCI compliance itself is NOT a scam.  Security Metrics pretty much is.  Intuit has signed them on to bully and belittle their customers. They are also WAY overpriced.

IF you take credit cards, you HAVE to be PCI compliant.  If you don't, you don't need to be compliant.

Either way, do NOT sign up with Security Metrics.  There are MANY other companies that are better, easier to work with and MUCH cheaper.

Be cautious with any emails regarding PCI compliance that mention SecurityMetrics and QuickBooks Online (QBO), @mononaacademyofdance. Let's ensure they're legitimate and not scams.

PCI compliance is essential for preventing fraud in credit card transactions. SecurityMetrics collaborates with QBO to help businesses meet these compliance standards. Always verify that emails originate from trusted domains, such as securitymetrics.com or intuit.com.

If you confirm the email is legitimate, you may need to complete the PCI compliance questionnaire and address any vulnerabilities related to credit card payments.

After creating an account with SecurityMetrics, you can complete their FastPass and purchase a PCI package that suits your business needs.

I've included a helpful resource for understanding PCI compliance: Intuit Security Center - PCI Compliance. This will help you in safeguarding your customers' payment card information.
