Since this is only happening on your iPad, the reason could be either an outdated QuickBooks app causing compatibility glitches or cached file errors that require some basic troubleshooting. To fix it, check the App Store to make sure your app is updated, or try refreshing the app to clear out the corrupted data.

Here's how you can reset your app on your iPad:

  1. Go to the Menu ☰ and select Help & Feedback.
  2. Tap Refresh Data.
  3. Tap Refresh to confirm.

Once completed, try approving your weekly time on your iPad again. If you continue to experience issues, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the app to ensure a fresh setup.

To narrow this down and figure out exactly what's causing the roadblock. Is the approval button missing entirely, or is it there but just not responding when you tap it? If you're seeing any specific error messages pop up, that would also be super helpful to know.

In the meantime, you can use the mobile or web browser to continue your weekly tracking on your iPad.

I look forward to your reply. Feel free to reply if you have other concerns.

I appreciate you trying to uninstall and reinstall the application. Since the app is still glitching and closing when you try to approve time, some temporary files might be stuck in the iPad’s cache. I recommend trying the refresh data process provided by my colleague above to clear your temporary memory and re-sync your data. After that, you can perform the additional troubleshooting steps below if needed.

One option is to offload the app through your iPad settings. This performs a deeper cleanup by removing the core app files and clearing clogged memory while safely keeping your personal data. Here's how:

  1. Open your Settings, pick General.
  2. Tap iPad Storage, then choose the QuickBooks Time app.
  3. Press Offload App.

After reinstalling the app, turn your device off for 10-20 seconds and turn it back on to give it a fresh start.

Once it turns on, ensure the iOS operating system is fully updated, as an outdated system can cause apps to crash. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General, then press Software Update.
  3. Make sure your iPad's iOS operating system is fully up to date.

If the issue persists after performing all of this troubleshooting, the problem is likely tied to a deeper setting on your device. I suggest checking with Apple Support or an IT professional for further assistance.
