Question

On iPad unable to adjust product quantities or add new product. Can choose date from calendar but incorrect default date formatting.

Click date in calendar defaults to November 7, 2025. Format required is mm/dd/yyyy (11/07/2025) but system won’t let me change it. Can only perform these processes on desktop. Very weird since it is online, so they definitely need to fix this iPad issue.

Hi there, bbkvendors. I appreciate you sharing your observations.

While you can adjust product quantities, add new products, and change the date format in the web and desktop versions of QuickBooks Online, the options to configure these are currently unavailable in the iPad or mobile app. The mobile app primarily focuses on invoicing, tracking expenses, and basic bookkeeping tasks, rather than detailed inventory management.

As a workaround, you can access your QuickBooks Online account using an iPad-supported web browser. This way, you can add or make changes to any of your products or services from there.

To add a product:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, select Products and services.
  2. Click the New dropdown.
  3. Select either Service, Inventory item, or Non-inventory item.
  4. Fill in the details.
  5. Hit Save and close.

To edit a product or service item:

  1. On the Products and services page, locate the product or service you want to change.
  2. Select Edit in the Action column.
  3. Adjust the quantity.
  4. Once done, select Save and close.

To change the date format:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  2. Click the Advanced menu.
  3. Scroll down to Other preferences and click Edit.
  4. Change the date format according to your preference.
  5. Hit Save, then Done.
