Profit & Loss by Job

I need to run a Profit & Loss by Job.

We have several jobs per customer. I'll give an example of my situation.  The "parent" job number is 19001.  There are several "children" for example 19001.00, 19001.15, 19001.83 etc (numbers go from .00 -.99).  All of the children sum to the total 19001.  I want to run a report showing ONLY the total for 19001 -- I don't want to see 19001.00, 19001.15, 19001.83 and then the total for 19001 (which is what the present report shows).   How can I do this?

Thank you!

Good evening, @M 201M.

How are you doing today? I hope all is well.

There's a couple of different customizing options you can try to accomplish not showing the sub (children) accounts.

First, you can customize the report to only show the parent account. Here's how:

  1. Open the report.
  2. In the upper left corner, click on on Customize
  3. Go to the Filters section.
  4. Click on Accounts>Multiple accounts>choose the parent accounts.

Or you can always run the report as you have been and collapse the sub account rows. Here's how:

  1. Open your Profit and Loss report.
  2. Click the Collapse/Expand -/+ button beside the sub accounts.

Feel free to check out these articles for more reference about customizing reports:

That should do the trick. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have a good one!
