Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you're experiencing where the rate is showing up as the list price instead of the cost on your purchase orders, melissa. We understand that this may have caused confusion, and we're here to provide clarification on this matter.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), the rate that appears on a purchase order is the price that you have set for the item in your product and service list. This rate is not dynamic and does not change based on the cost of the item. It is intended to reflect the selling price or list price of the item when you send the purchase order to your vendor.

To learn how to add an accepted purchase order to a transaction for your vendor in QBO, please visit this article: Add purchase orders to expenses, bills, or checks in QuickBooks Online

We understand that accurate pricing information is important to you, and we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. If you have any further questions about purchase orders or need assistance with any other aspect of QBO, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always here to help.
