I understand you’re running into an issue where QuickBooks is asking for repeated reboots after installing the update, Jackie. Let me guide you through steps to fix this and get QuickBooks working.

If QuickBooks Desktop doesn't open immediately, allow it time to load. To fix issues, download and install the QuickBooks Tools Hub. Close QuickBooks before using the tool hub, which works best on Windows 11, 64-bit. Here's how:

  1. Download the latest version (1.6.0.8) of QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Save the file in an easily accessible location, such as your Downloads folder or desktop.
  3. Then Open the downloaded file (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install and accept the terms and conditions.
  5. Launch the tool hub by double-clicking its desktop icon after installation.

Refer to Step 2 for detailed instructions on resolving issues if QuickBooks won't open.

If the issue continues, you can always connect with our Live Support Team for more assistance.

Feel free to reply to this thread if you have any additional details to share or if you have more questions about QuickBooks Desktop.

Can you open the sample file?

If the problem started immediately after installing the update, I'd first suspect the update itself rather than the company file. Try opening QuickBooks while holding the Ctrl key to prevent the company file from loading automatically. If QuickBooks opens, then manually open the company file from within the program. You can also run QuickBooks as Administrator and use QuickBooks Tool Hub to run Quick Fix My Program and File Doctor. Another thing to check is whether the update actually completed. Sometimes QuickBooks leaves a pending update flag in Windows and keeps asking for a reboot even after multiple restarts. A repair install from Programs and Features can often clear that.

If QuickBooks opens but the specific company file won't, run Verify and Rebuild Data. If the file still refuses to open after the update, or if you're seeing missing data, freezing, or file-related errors, the update may have exposed existing file corruption. In that situation, after trying the built-in repair tools, some users try thid party solutions like Stellar Repair for QuickBooks to recover data from a damaged QBW file.

Before making major changes, make sure you have a backup copy of the company file in case the issue is update-related rather than data-related.
