QBO Essetnials: Recurring invoices, deferred revenue for multi-month prepaid advertiser-per invoice/per item recognition in Advanced?

We’re a small nonprofit community magazine on QBO Essentials, managing about 909 recurring invoice templates for advertisers. Most are billed monthly for the issue they run in, but a subset prepay for multiple months at once and their terms are not uniform.  Some pay for 3 months, some pay 6, starting at different months, and the pricing varies (a prepay under a certain length does not qualify for the monthly multi-month discount, so it is billed at full price instead).    Right now we track all of this in an external spreadsheet and post a manual monthly JE (Debit deferred revenue/credit advertising revenue) to recognize the earned portion.   It works, but it’s fully manual and depends on someone keeping the spread sheet current.    Before we consider upgrading to Advanced,

here's the core question: does Advanced's Revenue Recognition let you set a schedule per invoice/customer — a custom start date and duration chosen at the time each invoice is created — or is a recognition schedule only attachable at the Product/Service item level with one fixed schedule per item?

If it turns out to be item-level only, I'm curious whether the workaround is a separate item for every term-length/start-month combination, and whether that's gotten unwieldy for anyone managing a similar mix of billing terms — or whether there's a supported way in Essentials to lighten the manual tracking without replicating full Revenue Recognition.

Any first-hand experience with mixed billing terms (monthly + variable multi-month prepay) on Advanced would be hugely helpful — trying to figure out if upgrading would actually let us retire the spreadsheet, or just move the same manual work to a different place.
