Setting up Shipping manager for FedEx and UPS ONLY

QB: Premier Plus Manufacturing and Wholesale Edition 2024.

Q: I want to set up the Shipping manager in QB. We ONLY use FedEx and UPS.

We have accounts for both carriers.

I am stuck on setup as it asks for USPS first, which we don't use at all. I don't want to put it any credit card information.

How do I bypass USPS setup and get FedEx and UPS setup?

Thank you!

Hello, ELcoPC. Let’s collaborate to set up your Shipping Manager for seamless use of FedEx and UPS for your shipping needs.

Before proceeding, please ensure that your QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus is updated to the latest release so the Shipping Manager and carrier integrations run smoothly.

QuickBooks Shipping Manager can be configured to work with FedEx and UPS, even if USPS is not used. However, the setup flow may still prompt for a USPS‑related step or default to USPS as the first carrier. In many cases, you can bypass this by selecting FedEx or UPS during the “Set up Carrier Accounts” step and simply not entering any USPS credentials, billing details, or credit card information.

When prompted to choose a carrier, select FedEx first. If the setup wizard insists on starting with USPS, look carefully for an option such as Skip, Cancel, or Not now on that USPS screen so you can move forward to FedEx or UPS without completing USPS registration.

If the setup requires creating a USPS account to proceed, you can complete the USPS section with only the necessary basic details and go to the Carrier Connections or shipping settings to turn off USPS.

Should the issue persist even after trying these steps, I recommend contacting our live support team for further assistance. They have specialized tools to access your account and check this further.

I’ll ensure this conversation remains open for any future updates and discussions.

The issue continues to be unresolved.

USPS is the first carrier to setup, and I do not see any way to bypass it, except to comply and put it my credit card!  That is ridiculous, as we NEVER use Postal Service to ship our goods.

Enough time has passed since the NEW SHIPPING Manager was released, and I am sure I am not the only one with this complaint to push for a solution!   Still waiting for either work around or permanent fix!

Current situation creates extra work for everyone, because we have to do all the shipping externally of QB!
