Let me share some information for transferring ownership of your account and removing your bank account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
By default, you must sign in as the Primary Admin to transfer the primary admin role. If the new owner is not yet on the QuickBooks users list, we can add them as a new user. Here's how:
Choose Add user, then enter the user’s name and email address. Please note that special characters aren’t allowed other than a period on the user’s name. For the email field, you can use a period and the @ character.
Click the Roles ▼ dropdown, then choose the role you want to assign to the user.
Review the features this role gives access to. You can expand each section.
Select the Account management settings you want to manage (if applicable for the chosen role).
Press Send invitation.
Once done, transfer the primary admin role to them. To transfer the primary admin role to another QuickBooks user, please follow the instructions below:
Go back to Settings ⚙, and select Manage users.
Find the user you want to make the primary admin.
In the User Type column, ensure they are listed as the admin. If not, select Edit to change their role to admin.
Click the small arrow ▼ in the Action section. Then, select Make primary admin.
Choose Make primary admin again to confirm the change.
Additionally, to disconnect your bank account in QuickBooks, please follow these steps:
In your company, head to the Transactions tab and choose Banktransactions.
Select the blue bank square for the account you are working on.
Tick the Edit ✎ icon and choose Edit account info.
Click the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
Press the Save and close button.
