Question

"the value of the line item amounts don't add up to the total amount specified". What the hell is this and how do I get rid of it? I'm suddenly getting this error.

I haven't changed anything about anything, just suddenly when I'm filling out invoices the same way that I have for years, I keep getting this error.

This error happens when the total amount on your invoice doesn't match the sum of all the line item amounts below, @bulletproofmitch.

Let's perform a troubleshooting step to see if the issue is caused by the website your using.

Start by logging out and back into your account. Before proceeding, check your internet connection speed and the QuickBooks Online server performance to ensure there are no connectivity issues.

Next, refresh the browser you're using. Refresh the connection and resolve issues that occurred in your last session.

If the issue persists, it’s best to contact the QuickBooks Online Support Team. They can look into your account and figure out what’s causing the problem.

Here's how you can connect with them:

  1. Click on the Help menu and go to the Assistant tab.
  2. In the chat box, type "contact support" and enter.
  3. Select Contact a human, then choose between Live Chat or Call me back.
  4. Type out a brief description of the problem and click Continue.
  5. Pick your preferred method, Callback or Chat.

Please reply to the post if you have further concerns.

I’m having the exact same issue suddenly after years of using QuickBooks without issue. I’ve tried everything, but nothing is working, and unfortunately, there is no one available to help during the weekend. This means business is at a standstill until the issue can be resolved. Not acceptable.
