If you're locked out of your account, here's the fastest path back in, and what to do if the usual steps don't work.

Recover access using your phone or email

  1. Go to the Intuit sign-in page.
  2. Select I forgot my user ID or password.
  3. Enter the phone number or email address on file for your account, then select Continue.
  4. Choose to receive your verification code by text or email, then check for it. Open your email or messages in a new browser tab rather than closing the sign-in page.
  5. Enter the code, then select Continue.
  6. If more than one account is linked to that contact info, select the one you want to access.
  7. Enter a new password, or select Skip to keep your current one.

If you no longer have access to your phone or email

You can submit an account recovery form with proof of identity, this is the next fastest option if your verified contact methods aren't available to you anymore.

For a full guide on troubleshooting login issues, visit: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in.

If you let us know which of these routes you have tried, or if you are receiving any error codes, we can get you pointed in the right direction.

Locked out or it won't run/open?  There's a major issue with the latest Windows update.  Windows removed Internet Explorer and QB will NOT RUN ON ANYTHING BUT IE.  And to get around it, you have to back load the prior version of Windows.

Intuit is NEVER timely with anything.  It's so bloody frustrating.

Hi csautoparts79-gm,

I know how important it is to have access to your account. Let's try a few things.

If you haven't already, try doing the basic troubleshooting steps like clicking on I forgot my user ID or Password, so you'll be asked to reset your password. Or, follow the article about recovering an account.

Alternatively, you can call our QuickBooks Online Support. They use more tools to check this further.

If there's anything that I can help you with, feel free to visit us back through this thread.

My problem is still not resolved. I am unable to get anyone on the phone who can help me. They all say they can’t and I have called the number on the back of my card several times. I have deleted the app and reinstalled, changed my password and have had 2 weeks not of declined purchases. My business is failing because of QuickBooks. I will need to take legal action. This is unacceptable.

@csautoparts79-gm

Your tag is QuickBooks Online but you mention "removing the app and reinstalling". Are you using QB Online or QB Desktop?
