Where do you download the Quickbooks Self Employed app?

I'm having an issue with a glitch in QuickBooks Self Employed not allowing me to create a new client. I get an error when creating a new client to bill. I have a client waiting to pay me and I cannot create them an invoice. I asked chat support to help. I got an email saying "We’ve identified additional steps for you to try. We’re continuing to work on solving for this unexpected behavior and our next update is currently scheduled for Fri Jan 30 20:00:00 GMT 2026. In order for you to make sure you can complete your work; we would advise you to follow these steps: Utilize the Mobile App instead of the web browser." So I download the QuickBooks app. Sign in. It tells me "Couldn't sign in. This app is only for Quick Books Online. If you use QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can re-download it from your app store purchase history". The problem is I've never downloaded that Self-Employed app, and it doesn't seem to exist in the app store anymore. What the hell am I supposed to do QuickBooks? And they say the issue with creating the client should be fixed a week from today. What am I supposed to do about getting paid until then!? Come on QuickBooks. Also, I can't reply back to the email they send me telling me to download the app, and now it's the weekend so they don't have chat support. This is extremely frustrating.

Hi there, @edn. I hear your frustration loud and clear.

Please be aware that the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) app is no longer available for download from the App Store or Google Play. Only users who already have the app installed will be able to continue using it as usual.

For now, I recommend waiting for the said update from our support team. If you prefer, you can also reach out to them again during their support hours to follow up. You can refer to this article for the steps and to find out their support hours: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to revisit this thread.

I ran into the same problem. I need the app to track my mileage. Any update of when the app will become available gắn?

Hi, MrLe1104. Thanks for reaching back out. At this time, there’s no update on when the QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) app will be available for download again.

In the meantime, you can consider using QBSE through a web browser to manually enter your business trips and track mileage in the Miles menu to keep your records accurate. Refer to this article for the detailed guidance in the Step 2 section: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Feel free to return to this thread if you have other concerns.

We hear you, @Kblaik . There isn't a specific update on the future of QuickBooks Self-Employed right now. Just so you know, the app is completely gone for new users only. If you're already a customer, you can still redownload it as long as you're on the same mobile platform or switching from iOS to iOS.

To get the app back on your new iPhone, just open the App Store. Then click Sign-in > Profile/Photo > Purchased > My Purchases > Not on this device. The app should be listed for you to redownload.

After downloading, you can check out this article to get the scoop on tracking mileage: Set up vehicles and mileage tracking to use with the mobile app.

If you have any questions about getting QuickBooks Self-Employed back on your new iPhone, feel free to drop a comment.
