I currently own two business a limited company and a sole trader. I want to use Quickbooks for both and I currently use Quickbooks sole trader.

I want to know which version of Quickbooks I’ll need to manage both accounts and set up my limited company on quickbooks , how easy it is to swap between the two, and is it easy for me to switch my sole trading quick books account over to a different version if needed

QuickBooks Online handles full business accounting, VAT, payroll, and the specific reporting that a limited company requires.

On the other hand, QuickBooks Sole Trader is a simplified, cloud-based option designed for self-employed individuals to manage day-to-day finances, track income and expenses, and prepare for Self Assessment tax returns.

Switching between your accounts is simple. Using the same email and password for both businesses links them to a single Intuit account. This allows you to log in once and seamlessly switch between companies without needing separate login details.

Here is how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Select Switch Company.
