Why are Audit Log Entries showing incorrect user?

I am attempting to sort through an audit log after a CPA commited fraud, created checks, deleted entries, deposits etc.... When I try to click view on Audit Log entry, the user changes and is different then what the first log stated. Why is this? Was the CPA able to manipulate the audit log?
