Hi there, TRL. QuickBooks Online (QBO) may be changing your invoices to pledges because your business is set up as a nonprofit organization. This adjustment helps QBO align its features with the specific needs and terminology used by nonprofit organizations.

If your business is a nonprofit and you'd like to update this setting, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner of your screen.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Account and settings.
  3. Go to the Company tab, find Business type, and click Edit.
  4. In the Business type drop-down menu, select the type that best represents your company.
  5. Click Save.

After completing these steps, click the Refresh button in the top right corner of your screen to apply the changes.

Also, check the Custom form styles to ensure the form name is labeled as 'Invoice' instead of 'Pledge'.
Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under YOUR COMPANY, select Custom form styles.
  3. Click Edit next to the relevant form.
  4. Check the Form Name field and confirm it is labeled as “Invoice.”
  5. Once verified, click Done.

This ensures consistency and accuracy in your documentation.
