QuickBooks Online has fully moved all reports to Modern View, so there's no setting to make Classic View the default, or to switch back to it. The good news is that your data and any reports you'd already customized or saved came along automatically. Nothing was lost, and you don't need to do anything on your end.
Why QuickBooks Online made the switch
Classic reports had been part of QuickBooks for years, but as your business grows, your reporting tools need to grow with you. Modern View runs on a new foundation that lets QuickBooks add features faster, handle larger amounts of data without slowing things down, and surface clearer insights right where you need them, like dashboard KPIs.
What stays the same
Modern View shows the same information you're used to, with all the tools you already rely on:
- Reporting periods
- Filters
- Accounting methods
- Display options
- Comparisons
- The option to show or hide active or non-zero-value rows and columns
