When the app crashes right as you tap into an expense PDF attachment on your iPhone, it's almost always tied to the app version, your iOS version, or some corrupted app data getting in the way. Here's the order of steps that clears it up for most people:
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, then try opening the attachment again. A spotty connection can look like a crash.
- Close the QuickBooks app completely (not just minimize it) and reopen it.
- Restart your iPhone.
- Open the App Store and check for a QuickBooks update. Install it if one's available.
- Check for an iOS update in Settings > General > Software Update and install the latest version.
- If you're still stuck, uninstall the QuickBooks app and reinstall it from the App Store.
If you've already uninstalled and reinstalled without any luck, it's worth going back and checking specifically for an app update and an iOS update. A lot of crashes tied to opening attachments come down to an app build and iOS version that aren't quite in sync, even when everything looks current at a glance.
While you're working through this, you can still get to your expense PDF attachments by signing in to QuickBooks Online from a mobile browser instead of the app. It's not as convenient, but it'll keep you moving in the meantime.
