Why is the QuickBooks Online mobile app opening but not loading my dashboard or products, and how do I fix it?

My normal dashboard is not there, nor are my products. I can force it to start an invoice and find my customers, but it will not add products or even show them.

When the app opens but your dashboard or products won't load, it's almost always a sync or cache issue on the device, and refreshing the data plus a quick sign-out and back in usually gets everything to populate again. To keep working in the meantime, sign in at qbo.intuit.com in a browser, which also tells you the problem is app-side if everything shows there correctly.

Step 1: Refresh the app's data

Refreshing re-downloads your data from the QuickBooks servers.

  1. iOS: open the app menu, tap Help & Feedback, then Refresh Data, then Refresh.
  2. Android: open the menu, tap Settings, then Refresh Data, then Yes.
  3. Restart your phone and reopen the app.

Reference: Getting started with the QuickBooks mobile app.

Step 2: Force a fresh sync

A clean sign-in makes the app sync from scratch.

  1. Sign out of the app, then sign back in; this often pulls in the missing dashboard and lists.
  2. Switch your connection: if you're on Wi-Fi, try cellular data, or vice versa, then reopen the app.

Step 3: Clear the app's stored data

If the data still won't populate, reset what the app has stored.

  1. iOS: go to Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage, select the QuickBooks Online app, then Offload App (This frees the storage without deleting your app's documents and data), then reinstall from the App Store.
  2. Android: go to Settings, then Apps, select the QuickBooks app, then Storage, then Clear data.  Restart your device and reopen the app.
  3. Make sure you're on the latest app version from the App Store or Google Play.

If it keeps spinning on "getting your data"

This kind of hang can happen when the app is pulling a large amount of data, and heavy-traffic periods like tax season can slow that down further, so waiting a short while and retrying sometimes clears it. If it doesn't, reach out to live support so they can look at your account securely and test the sync: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

If you tell us your device, app version, and exactly which lists won't load, we can help pin down whether it's a sync issue or something in your setup.

Let's troubleshoot your QuickBooks Online (QBO) app to resolve the issue with your dashboard not loading properly, wiltonj2002.

The problem you're having, where your dashboard isn't loading properly, can be caused by your app's cache. In the meantime, I suggest clearing your app's cache to free up space and improve performance.

Here's how to clear the app's cache on your iPhone:

  1. Tap on the Settings icon and then choose General.
  2. Click on iPhone Storage and choose the QBO app.
  3. Tap on Offload App to remove the app and its data temporarily, or tap on Delete App to remove the app and all its data permanently.

For Android:

  1. Go to the Settings app on your device.
  2. Scroll down and select App or Applications.
  3. Find the QuickBooks app and tap on it.
  4. Select Storage and then tap on Clear Cache.

Additionally, please ensure that your QBO app is updated to the latest version from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). The mobile app updates automatically as long as you have an internet connection, syncing with the latest information from the server.

I've also included an article to provide you with a general overview of what the app can accomplish. You can explore the software in this way: QuickBooks Online app overview.

If you have any further questions about QuickBooks, feel free to respond to this thread.

Hi, dhjcoolingltd. I hear your concerns, and I can imagine how frustrating it must be to experience these setbacks with the app.

To address this freezing and crashing issues, let’s start perform some troubleshooting steps. Outdated or corrupted app data are the most common cause behind performance issues. Clearing them can help resolve the problem.

However, if the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Live Support team again. They can securely look into your account and run a series of tests to determine the root cause of the crashing issue. In the mean time, you can log in into your QBO account through a mobile browser. From there, you can reach out to us and continue your other tasks.

We're committed to helping you resolve this. Let us know in the comments below if you need further assistance.

Hi there, Shene. Thank you for reaching out to us about this concern.

Let's do some troubleshooting steps for your QBO app. The issue about your past invoices not loading may be caused by your app's cache. To resolve this, I recommend clearing the app's cache to free up space and enhance its performance.

Here's how to clear the app's cache on your iPhone:

1.Go to Settings, then tap General.

2.Select iPhone Storage, then press on the QuickBooks Online app.

        3. Tap Offload App.

For Android:

        1. Go to Menu , then tap More Options ⋮.

        2. Choose Settings, then select Refresh Data.

        3. Click YES to confirm.

Additionally, please make sure your QBO app is updated to the latest version, which can be downloaded from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). If you’re connected to the internet, the app will automatically update and sync with the latest data from the server.

If you have any further questions or concerns about QBO, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're always here to assist you.
