Moving from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online is simple, and I'm here to help. I'll guide you through the process to ensure your data is transferred smoothly.
There are two ways to transfer your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) file to QuickBooks Online (QBO). One option is to use the migration tool included in QBDT. To do this, you’ll need access to your QBDT and must complete the transfer within 90 days of setting up your QBO account. For a step-by-step guide, refer to the article: Move your QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online.
The second option is to use an online tool to handle the migration. This tool can transfer data from QuickBooks company files (.QBW), portable files (.QBM), or backup files (.QBB).\
Hit Get Started, then sign in with your Intuit Account.
Click Select File, then browse to the supported QBDT file you want to move.
Tap Opento upload the file.
After your file is uploaded, QuickBooks will automatically update it to the latest version of QBDT. Then, you'll have the option to migrate to QBO.
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the migration to QBO.
When switching to QBO, you may notice some changes in the appearance of your books. Rest assured, these articles are available to help you understand how your data is transferred and organized during the migration:
