A casual employee was terminated and now 2 years later was re employeed, How do I re-activate a terminated employee

Let me guide you on how to reactivate terminated employee in your QuickBooks Online Payroll account. Here's how:

Click on the Payroll tab.
Click Active Employees button and select All Employees.
Locate the terminated employee and select it.
Click on the Re-Activate Employee.
Click on Activate button.

That's it! You've now reactivated the employee and it should now show in your active employee list.

Those steps are not available for me to be able to carry out the process of re-activating a member of staff.

Help I terminated someone and I don`t have a pay slip to pay them their last wage.

Before proceeding, can you share what Payroll subscription you're using? This will help us narrow down the issue you're experiencing.

Since you need to mark the member as active to process the pay run, I recommend accessing your account via incognito. This mode doesn't retain cache to verify if it's a webpage issue. From there, follow the steps below:

Select Employees from the left-hand menu.
Pick the employee you wish to reactivate temporarily.
Scroll to the bottom and click Re-Activate Employee
Tap Activate.

If it works, clear the browser's cache to start with a clean slate. You can also use other supported browsers as an alternative to your regular one.

However, I suggest contacting our support team if you're still unable to reactivate and pay your member. They can pull up your account securely and investigate this matter further.

This option seems to have changed since this was created. I can go into the Terminated employee's profile and change their status to be Active. But this will make me change their Hire Date (does not seem to include a re-hire date). Will QB keep all of the information from their previous employment? It seems a little unclear.
