How to stop STP lodgement

Once a pay event has been submitted to the ATO, you will be unable to cancel it. However if you have reported incorrect figures in the lodgement, you can then lodge an Update Event to correct what is now held with the ATO. Firstly, make any changes as necessary to your payruns or so on to ensure you have the correct year-to-date figures for your employees. Then you can follow the below steps to create and lodge the Update Event. This is used to advise the ATO that the previously reported earnings were not accurate and you have made changes. 

1. Go to the Employees tab, then select Reports.
2. Click on Single Touch Payroll (under the ATO Reporting sub-heading).
3. Select Create Update Event.
4. Choose the financial year and pay schedule. Review your figures as needed, then follow the prompts to lodge with the ATO.
