Can you create a monthly tab for a clients. Something that they would get charged once a month but they can see the added hours of work or cost live updates

Based on what you've shared above, I recommend taking advantage of the Recurring Transactions function. This allows you to automatically charge your customer's card at a date that you set up on your end. Here's a helpful article that provides more info about how to:  

Create recurring transactions in QuickBooks Online.  The article does a great job at showing you how to use and enter a recurring entry in QuickBooks. I encourage you to check it out and let me know if you need anything else as you go through the article. You'd also have to manually send the customer the monthly tab by either using an estimate/invoice.
