The Trial Balance report in QBO provides a summary of the debit and credit balances for each account within a defined period. However, it doesn't include an opening balance column by design. Instead, it focuses on showing the total debits and credits for each account within your selected date range.
If you need to view opening balances, here are two alternative reports you can generate:
General Ledger report
This report includes opening balances, debits, credits, and ending balances for each account in a single view. It provides a more comprehensive overview of account activity.
Balance Sheet Comparison report
You can identify opening balances by running the Balance Sheet report for the time period before the start date of your Trial Balance and compare it with the current period's report. This will help you see how the opening balances transition into the selected trial period.
