Hi Anshika,

Welcome to QuickBooks Community!

 

In order to delete any ledger account, you can follow these steps:

 

1. Go to Accounting--> Chart of Accounts.

2. Choose the required account and go to the extreme right. You will see a dropdown next to Run report.

3. Click and choose Edit

4. Make the required changes and click Save and close

Here's the correct step: Choose the required account and go to the extreme right. You will see a dropdown next to Account history. 

You can choose to edit or make it inactive.
